Class Description:
This class presents students with the knowledge, skills and attitude for the effective and safe use of a handgun.
The course of classes is designed for students who are interested in the use of a handgun for sporting or self-defense. Students will learn skills which are critical in target shooting, competition or personal protection environments. Students will also be exposed to using their firearms in controlled but stressful environments.
This class is designed for the beginning level shooter that wants to expand on basic skills and fundamentals taught in prior introduction to firearms class. Students will learn and apply an updated application of the seven classic fundamentals of handgun shooting. The topics covered focus on adapting the fundamentals to each shooter based on their individual needs and physiology. The class includes a 50-round course of fire to help reinforce the fundamentals explored during the classroom portion.
The training will benefit the new firearm owner as well as the person interested in renewing his/her skills in recreational shooting, defense and home safety.
Students will be taught in a compassionate and non-threatening environment.

Includes:
Classroom instruction, range fees, targets, eye & ear protection.
Class Length: 3 hours (Typically 2 hours of classroom instruction followed by range time).
Prerequisites:
Applicants for this class should have a basic understanding of handgun safety and marksmanship. Applicants should be able to perform basic target shooting, as well as demonstrate loading and reloading of magazines into the firearm. This class is recommended after taking Basic Handgun Safety & Responsibility Course: Introduction to Firearms.
Required Equipment:
- Handgun. If you don't own one, you may rent one of ours.
- Eye and ear protection (provided).
- Sensible footwear - no open toe or open heel.
- 100 rounds of ammunition - if renting our handgun, you will need to purchase our ammunition as well.
Age Restriction:
The minimum age to attend this course is 15 years of age. A parent or guardian must accompany these students. Students must be 21 years of age to attend this course unaccompanied.
